Why Read/Subscribe to Empirical Common Sense (E.C.S.):

E.C.S. is for anyone who:

  1. Embraces the notion that you don’t know what you don’t know

  2. Examines issues form all angles before forming conclusions

  3. Is willing to change conclusions when faced with new information

  4. Believes we can all do better as human beings

  5. Believes in Science

  6. Believes in the integrity, value, and rights that should be afforded all human beings regardless of ANY/ALL differences

  7. Hopes to engage others in civil discourse in an effort to make our communities stronger and more equitable

Contrary to current social trends, 'alternative facts' are not actually an objective reality. According to Merriam Webster a fact is "a. something that has actual existence; an actual occurrence; a piece of information presented as having objective reality.

Science deals in data and theories. Regrettably, this allows individuals or organizations to make claims, ignoring or cherry-picking data to sow doubt in those theories. These individuals and organizations rely on the ignorance or motivations of individuals to then disregard scientific theories regardless of the consequences. Again, the arguments created do maintain an objective reality.
